Saber Boys’ Basketball 10,000 Shot Club April – Oct 1, 2010 Want to join the club? All you have to do is put in some time during the off-season to improve your game. Shoot 10,000 GAME SHOTS at GAME SPEED using CORRECT FORM and not only will you be an improved player but earn a free shirt. You should shoot all of your shots at game speed because that is what will help make you a better player during games. Standing around and playing “horse” with a friend may be fun, but really isn’t helping you come game time. Absolutely! Ideally free throws will consist of approximately 25% of your shots taken. When you shoot shots at game speed for a long period of time, you will need to rest. Free throws are a great way to rest during a workout. The idea behind a 10,000 Shot Club is to give you, the player, the confidence and knowledge that you deserve to win because you put in time to improve your game. You must be true to yourself and be honest about what you want to get out of doing this. Once you have your routine it should be easy to count your shots. I recommend shooting 25 shots at game speed, followed by 10 free throws. Once you have completed 4 cycles of that you will have shot 100 shots and 50 free throws (25-10, 25-10, 25-10, 25-20). Record that information on paper. 42/50 Free Throws 34/50 Inside Jump Shots Once you record this information on paper, go home and have a parent sign and date the bottom of that day’s workout. I recommend taking that information (break down by 3- pointers, inside jump shots, free throws) and putting it on a graph so you can see your daily improvement throughout the off-season. Absolutely not! Your parent needs to only vouch that to the best of their knowledge you had the time/opportunity to shoot your shots that day. If they want to help that is great but not required. Hand Coach Kugath all of your paperwork for the summer before October 1, 2010. Total up all of your shots, figure out your percentage, show any graphs that you created, and make sure that all shots have been verified by a parent/guardian. 1) Shakopee basketball player next year between grades 3-12. 3) Must shoot game shots, at game spots, going at game speed. 4) You must shoot at least 100 shots in a set. 5) You must have a parent/guardian willing to sign your paperwork. Good luck and have a great shooting summer!!! Coach Kugath
